Invariant Template Matching with Tangent Vectors

چکیده
Template matching is the search for a known object, represented by a template image, at an arbitrary location within a larger image. The local measure of match is often desired to be invariant to certain transforms, such as rotation and dilation, of the template. While a variety of solutions have been proposed, most are designed to provide invariance to a specific transform or set of transforms, and often involve significant computational demands. When invariance to “small” transformations of the template (e.g. rotation by a small angle) is sufficient, local linear approximations to these transforms may be used to allow template matching with invariance to arbitrary transforms, without significantly increased computational requirements. c © 2006 Society of PhotoOptical Instrumentation Engineers. A New RSTB Invariant Image Template Matching Based on Log-Spectrum and Modified ICA
Template matching is a widely used technique in many of image processing and machine vision applications. In this paper we propose a new as well as a fast and reliable template matching algorithm which is invariant to Rotation, Scale, Translation and Brightness (RSTB) changes. For this purpose, we adopt the idea of ring projection transform (RPT) of image. In the proposed algorithm, two novel s...
متن کاملPattern matching based on a generalized Fourier transform
In a two-dimensional pattern matching problem, a known template image has be located in another image, irrespective of the template's position, orientation and size in the image. One way to accomplish invariance to the changes in the template is by forming a set of feature vectors that encompass all the variations in the template. Matching is then performed by finding the best similarity betwee...
متن کاملRecognition of handwritten digit with transformed invariant distance - Project Final Report - Due 12 / 14 / 07 Buyoung
This paper presents a method to classify handwritten digit based on tangent vectors, which are the linear derivatives of transformations. The purpose of tangent vector is to find the distance between manifolds; a substitute of the classical Euclidean distance. Using the tangent vector, a satisfying performance was achieved, invariant to transformation. While implementing the classifier, we impr...

A fingerprint verification system based on a set of invariant moment features and a nonlinear Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN) verifier is proposed. An image-based method with invariant moment features for fingerprint verification is used to overcome the demerits of traditional minutiae-based methods and other image-based methods. The proposed system contains two stages: an off-line stage...

In this paper we describe the architecture, implementation and experimental results for an Intracardiac Electrogram (ICEG) classification and compression chip. The chip processes and vector-quantises 30 dimensional analogue vectors while consuming a maximum of 2.5 J-tW power for a heart rate of 60 beats per minute (1 vector per second) from a 3.3 V supply. This represents a significant advance ...
